Access to information
It is the intention of Ringstead Parish Council to publish as much information as we can online. However, some older items are only available in print.
Residents should also be aware that the Council is entitled to withhold certain information, but the Council will only do this if the information is considered to be confidential. Please check the Documents page for a list of documents currently available.
Under the Freedom of Information Act ("the Act") it is the duty of every public authority to adopt and maintain a Publication Scheme. Publication Schemes facilitate the proactive release of information and play a crucial role in supporting and providing greater openness and transparency across the public sector.
In line with Section 20 of the Act the Information Commissioner has approved a model Publication Scheme which should be adopted by all public authorities. Ringstead Parish Council formally adopted the model Publication Scheme at its meeting on 14th January 2009 and now works under the new Model Publication Scheme effective from the 25th October 2015.
A copy of the Ringstead Parish Council's Model Publication Scheme, together with Supplementary Policies 1 and 2 is available by in the documents section of this website.
